Chelsea were interested in €18m La Liga forward before Higuain signed

Chelsea were linked with all manner of targets in January to replace Alvaro Morata, and news from Seville based football paper Estadio Deportivo today claims that Pablo Sarabia of Sevilla was one of them.

We suggested ourselves that the club hierarchy take a look at the Spaniard, simply because he was available so cheap.

He has an €18m release clause in his contract, which we can trigger at any time.

So while we ended up plumping for Gonzalo Higuain as our new number 9, the versatile Sarabia is likely to still be on our radar. Cheap and versatile, it’s no wonder we like the look of him.

Sadly, given that amazing price, there is a ton of competition for him too. We’ll likely have to fight off interest from all manner of teams in order to secure him this summer. The piece reports interest from other teams in the Premier League, as well as Dalian Yifang of China.
