Chelsea take on the Premier League’s basement boys Huddersfield Town this afternoon at Stamford Bridge trying to put the midweek disaster behind them.
The Blues were humiliated by Bournemouth 4-0 on Wednesday night with the loss meaning that they slipped out of the top four to be replaced by Arsenal on goals scored.
Maurizio Sarri’s side have now lost five of their last 12 Premier League matches and questions have started to be asked about Sarri and his methods at the Blues.
However, the Terriers might well just be the perfect side to face at this time to get the Blues back to winning ways and got some confidence into the players.
Sarri could well make some changes to the side in defence and Antonio Rudiger is a doubt for the match with a knee injury, so Andreas Christensen is set to come into the team.
Meanwhile, Marcos Alonso could come back in at left-back after Emerson Palmieri had a difficult Premier League start against the Cherries.
There is also a decision to be made over who will play on the left of the three in midfield, with Ross Barkley potentially coming in on that position.
Here is the side that we expect to see against the Terriers at Stamford Bridge.
Expected Chelsea XI: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Christensen, Alonso, Jorginho, Kante, Barkley, Hazard, Pedro, Higuain.
