Former Blue Dom Solanke has just joined Bournemouth for an eye-watching £19m fee, and that has Chelsea fans very excited.
Why is that? It’s not because we’re getting a slice of that fee as a sell on clause. It’s because of the way that opens up a channel for Callum Wilson to come to Chelsea.
The striker has been superb for the Cherries this term, and has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as we continue to look to upgrade on the disappointing Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud.
Wilson’s combination of technical ability, work rate and physicality make him the ideal man to lead the line for Maurizio Sarri’s team.
We look set to sell a few squad players in this window, hopefully raising enough cash to secure the England international for a reasonable sum this week, so that we can boost our squad just when we need it most.
A Time To Say Goodbye To An Exceptional Talent That Has Given Chelsea So Much
Saturday 5th January 2019 is a date that could go down in the history books at Chelsea Football Club.
With Chelsea set to entertain Nottingham Forest in a FA Cup 3rd round tie, Maurizio Sarri is expected to call upon the services of Cesc Fabregas, hoping that the Spaniard can provide those killer passes that open-up defences.
The news source, Sky Sports, is reporting that today is expected to be the last time that Cesc pulls on a Chelsea shirt with a move to Monaco, to team up with his former team-mate, Thierry Henry, expected to be sealed very soon.
If that is the case, then Fabregas will head out of the Stamford Bridge gates having helped Chelsea win:
• 2 Premier League titles
• 1 FA Cup
• 1 League Cup
No mean feat.
Hopefully, Cesc will be given the farewell he deserves this afternoon as he heads off to the principality of Monaco for a career swansong.
