Chelsea transfer news: ‘Source has told us move could be done today’ – Sky Sports Reporter

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri

CHELSEA could complete the loan move of Michy Batshuayi TODAY, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

Sheth has been told by a source close to the deal that Batshuayi is set to be announced as a Monaco player until the end of the season.

Batshuayi, 25, has had his disappointing loan spell at Valencia looks cut short.

The Belgium front man scored just three goals in 23 appearances for the La Liga side, the last of which saw him hooked at half-time during their Copa del Rey defeat by Sporting Gijon.

A switch to Monaco would see him link back up Thierry Henry, who he worked with at the Belgian national side.

“A striker who is on his way out is Michy Batshuayi,” Sheth told the Transfer Centre.

“Valencia have cut short his loan spell and Monaco are interested in signing him until the end of the season.

“There’s a willingness on all sides to get a deal done with Monaco boss Thierry Henry admitting his interest in a player he’s worked with at Belgian.

“One source has told us the move could be done on Monday.”

Batshuayi’s record under Henry is a stunning one.

He has featured in 16 games, making five starts, and he has scored nine goals.

He averages a return of a goal every 69 minutes.

Everton had also shown an interest in the frontman but it appears Monaco have won the transfer tussle.
