Chelsea deadline day deals: Confirmed ins and outs and transfers still to be completed

CHELSEA have dominated the headlines on transfer deadline day, with a number of deals still in the balance.

The Blues have made a significant change to their squad this month.

Out has gone Alvaro Morata, who has joined Atletico Madrid on a two-year loan deal, and in has come Gonzalo Higuain, signing on a six-month loan from Juventus.

Victor Moses has also moved to Fenerbahce on loan, while Cesc Fabregas has completed a full transfer to Monaco – and there could be more players heading for the exit before tonight’s 11pm deadline.

Here is a round-up of Chelsea’s transfer business today.

INS

Maurizio Sarri is yet to make a deadline-day signing for Chelsea.

OUTS

Despite many players being tipped to leave Stamford Bridge before the deadline, the only departee for the Blues so far today is Lucas Piazon – who has joined Chievo on loan until the end of the season.

POTENTIAL DEALS

Following Fabregas’ departure, Sarri is keen to bring in another central midfielder and that man could be Abdoulaye Doucoure.

The Watford ace has emerged as a shock deadline-day target for Chelsea after backing out of a deal for Leandro Paredes.

However, it is believed the Hornets have no intention of selling the Frenchman this evening.

As for players heading in the opposite direction, Michy Batshuayi is on the verge of sealing a last-minute loan switch to Crystal Palace.

And reports in Italy suggest Chelsea are open to loaning Andreas Christensen out before the transfer window slams shut.

Inter Milan and Juventus are the frontrunners to prise the Dane away from west London until the end of the season.

DEALS THAT WON’T HAPPEN

West Ham and Real Betis are believed to have baulked at Batshuayi’s £160,000-a-week wage demands, leaving Everton as the striker’s most likely way out of Stamford Bridge tonight.

Gary Cahill has turned down offers from Fulham, Monaco and, incredibly, Serie A champions Juventus.

Willian is also staying at the club despite late interest from PSG.

The Ligue 1 champions are reportedly seeking a replacement for Neymar, who has been ruled out for up to 10 weeks with a metatarsal injury.
