Maurizio Sarri has broken his silence on his club’s links to Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic.
The Italian tactician is said to be watching the American with great interest, amidst suggestions he is preparing to leave the Bundesliga outfit in January.
Pulisic has been in good form for Dortmund this season, showing his ability on both the domestic and European stage. However, negotiations to extend the 20-year-old’s contract are understood to have stalled.
When grilled in a press conference regarding his team’s intentions for the player, Sarri was deliberately evasive when answering.
Quoted by Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard, Sarri said:
Pusilic is a Borussia Dortmund player & I don’t want to talk about a player of another club. It’s not professional, I think.
Any move for the player is said to be set to cost the purchasing team upwards of £70 million, and Chelsea could have to shell out a fair amount if they are drawn into a bidding war with another interested club.
