Chelsea’s most likely January signing revealed – and it’s bad news for Giroud or Morata

The countdown has begun until the January transfer window opens.

Chelsea are one of several teams across Europe expected to do some sort of business and they’ve been linked with several names in recent weeks including the likes of £70m-rated Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic.

Real Madrid star Isco is another name doing the rounds as is Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek, Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi and Manchester United target Eder Militao from Porto.

However, none of the aforementioned players are the most likely signing Maurizio Sarri will make in his second window as Blues head coach.

According to Bookmakers Betway , that honour will fall to Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, who has impressed so much this season that he made his England debut against USA at Wembley last month.

And it would appear a switch to Stamford Bridge is very much on the cards, as Betway’s Alan Alger said:”It could be all change at Chelsea with Callum Wilson 3/1 to join the Blues from Bournemouth.”

Wilson’s potential arrival in west London would spell bad news for one of Olivier Giroud or Alvaro Morata as Sarri favours one up front with two wingers either side.

Both have impressed in patches this term but haven’t managed to establish themselves as the Itralian’s first-choice striker and had scored six Premier League goals between them prior to last night’s clash against Wolves.

The Cherries ace notched his eighth of the campaign against Huddersfield on Tuesday night and has also weighed in with five assists.

It’s not just incomings that are being discussed.

Danny Drinkwater hasn’t featured at all this season, Cesc Fabregas is out of contract in the summer and Ruben Loftus-Cheek has stated he would be open to leaving on loan next month.

“With just three weeks to go before the January transfer window opens, it’s Chelsea’s Danny Drinkwater and Cesc Fabregas who look the most likely to be on the move next month,” Betway’s Alan Alger added.

“They have slipped down the pecking order under Maurizio Sarri and both are being linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge, with Drinkwater 8/15 to move across London to Fulham, while Fabregas is 15/8 to join AC Milan.”
