Chelsea news: Maurizio Sarri sent transfer warning – ‘Blues risk losing someone special’

CHELSEA boss Maurizio Sarri must find a way to give Callum Hudson-Odoi more playing time or he risks losing somebody special.

That’s according to former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp.

The 18-year-old impressed for the Blues during pre-season and he bagged his first goal for the club in last week’s Europa League win over PAOK.

But despite a promising performance, Hudson-Odoi wasn’t in the squad for yesterday’s Premier League clash with Fulham.

The tricky winger faces tough competition for places, with star players Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian all ahead of him in the pecking order.

And Redknapp has urged Sarri to give him opportunities, citing Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho as an example of what he could achieve.

“It was a shame not to see Callum Hudson-Odoi at least on the bench for Chelsea,” he told the Daily Mail.

“This kid is the next superstar.

“He is full of confidence, loves to run at defenders and capped a brilliant display against PAOK with his first senior goal.

“He also took the time last week to meet Chelsea’s Under 10s.

“Maurizio Sarri simply has to find a way to give him more minutes.

“Jadon Sancho has set a precedent.

“Young players are willing to move abroad to play and Chelsea risk losing someone special.”

Chelsea climbed to third in the Premier League after beating Fulham 2-0.

Sarri’s side remain in touch with Manchester City and Liverpool in the race for the title.

The Blues return to action on Wednesday as they visit struggling Wolves.

The clash kicks off at 7.45pm.
