Chelsea handed January transfer boost as Napoli star hints at Maurizio Sarri reunion

Maurizio Sarri will be looking for reinforcements in January to ensure his good start to life in the Premier League is not wasted.

The Blues went 12 games unbeaten under the Italian manager, before losing to arch-rivals Tottenham.

And although they beat west London rivals Fulham, they suffered a shock second defeat in three games at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night to drop to fourth.

They are now ten points adrift of league leaders Manchester City and Sarri’s belief that it was too soon for the Blues to challenge for the title appears to have some truth.

Sarri only brought in Jorginho and Kepa Arrizabalaga during the summer and the Stamford Bridge outfit are expected to be busy come January.

The Blues boss is sure to be linked with a number of his former Napoli players, as he was in the summer, and one has given him a boost by suggesting he could be ready for a new challenge elsewhere.

Chelsea were linked with full-back Elseid Hysaj in the summer, but only Jorginho made the move from Naples to London.

Could Hysaj make the move next month though?

His agent Mario Giuffredi spoke to Radio Marte, as per Calcio Mercato , and said: “The player could go away. It is not said that he stays in Naples, everything can happen, even if he goes away in January.”
