Bad news for Aston Villa as Chelsea consider recalling loan star

Aston Villa and Chelsea have reportedly held discussions regarding the future of striker Tammy Abraham, with the Premier League giants considering a potential recall in the January transfer window.

The Birmingham Mail are reporting that discussions have been held between Aston Villa and Chelsea, with the Premier League club considering recalling the young striker when the January transfer window opens.

Tammy Abraham initially wanted to stay at Stamford Bridge for the season to try and prove himself in the Premier League under new manager Maurizio Sarri. However, the London club opted to loan out the Englishman to get more experience under his belt.

The striker’s form has been catching people’s attention, scoring ten goals in 13 Championship appearances so far.

With Abraham’s form catching the eye, parent club Chelsea could opt to recall him from his loan spell with Aston Villa. However, despite initially wanting to stay, the striker is enjoying himself in the Championship, developing his game.

“I’ve been working on my heading – you can tell by my new trim,” he said

“I just wanted to try something new. The other day I had a header which went over the bar so I said you know what I am going to get a new trim. I got one and scored two good headers. I will definitely be keeping it now.

“I love getting in the right areas. I couldn’t do it without the team. They create great chances for me and it is about keeping going even if I miss a chance. I came here to score goals and help this team as much as possible.

“Teams will be looking at us and hopefully be scared. With the players we have here we will always create chances.”
