N’Golo Kante rejects Chelsea plans to pay image rights through tax haven

The nicest guy in football strikes again

N’Golo Kante has received massive praise on Wednesday after it was revealed he refused to have his Chelsea image rights paid through a tax haven.

There has been quite a bit of controversy with Football Leaks of late and they are still making revelations by the week.

One of those revelations, with Mediapart, has dragged Chelsea into it and there have been a number of reports on their dealings.

Though, the latest comes in relation to how N’Golo Kante’s image rights are paid.

The Frenchman has become somewhat of a phenomenon in football, not only for his ability on the pitch but also his humble attitude.

Many have dubbed him the nicest man in football and the latest Football Leaks just strengthens that opinion.

“N’Golo is inflexible – he just wants a normal salary”

That is because Mediapart have revealed the player has refused Chelsea’s plans to pay his image rights through a tax haven.

It is said that Chelsea wanted to pay him through an offshore account in Jersey.

Though, despite an offshore company being created, the player then refused to be paid through it.

His reasoning? He just wants to be paid a normal wage and feared getting into trouble in the future.

According to the report, one source even claimed that ‘”N’Golo is inflexible – he just wants a normal salary.”

“After reading numerous press articles on image rights and tax investigations against players and clubs, N’Golo is increasingly concerned that the set-up proposed to him could be questioned by the tax authorities.

“N’Golo decided that he did not want to take any risks.”
