Maurizio Sarri may have started life at Chelsea the best way possible, setting a new record for the longest unbeaten run for a new Premier League manager, but this has certainly come at the detriment of some Blues players.
Cesc Fabregas is one of those men who has been left out in the cold but the Spaniard could soon find his route of a Stamford Bridge quite straight-forward, with Italian behemoths AC Milan willing to recruit the 31-year-old midfielder in January.
Publication Calciomercato suggests that Milan Sporting Director Leonardo will try and acquire the Chelsea star once the window transfer window opens to help the Rossoneri cope with their cluster of injuries that currently plague the club.
Milan currently have an astonishing seven players, with Hakan Calhanoglu the latest name on the list after sustaining a foot injury on international duty with Turkey.
Fabregas has been part of the Chelsea fabric since 2014, winning the title with Jose Mourinho in his first season and going on to win another with Antonio Conte two years later. The former Arsenal and Barcelona man has gone on to make a total of 191 appearances for Chelsea, contributing 22 goals and 55 assists.
This season however he has made just three appearances in the Premier League – all off the bench – and equating to just over a total of a half of a match.
Fabregas’ contract at Chelsea expires at the end of the season and the Blues are no doubt looking to cash in on their out-of-favour Number 4 instead of seeing him leave on a bosman at the end of the season.
