Everyone saw David Luiz’s classy gesture to Fikayo Tomori after Chelsea beat Derby

Chelsea were given an almighty scare by Derby County on Halloween.

Maurizio Sarri’s side narrowly beat Frank Lampard’s charges 3-2 in the Carabao Cup.

All the goals in the encounter came in the first half.

On loan from Chelsea, Derby’s Fikayo Tomori scored an own goal in the 5th minute to hand the Blues the lead.

Derby, who previously knocked Man United out the cup, levelled four minutes later through Jack Marriott.

Chelsea regained the lead courtesy of another Derby own goal from Richard Keogh in the 21st minute.

However the Rams made it 2-2 when Martyn Waghorn found the target in the 27th.

Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas scored what proved to be the winner in the 41st minute.

The Chelsea loanee was left with his head in his hands after he sliced a shot into his own net.

After the match, Chelsea’s Brazilian centre-half David Luiz did his best to help out Tomori.

In a classy move, Luiz was spotted chatting to Tomori as they exited the pitch.

It seemed clear that Luiz was offering his support to the Derby defender.

Luiz has been praised for trying to mentor Tomori.
