Thorgan Hazard has spoken about his brother Eden’s future at Chelsea, and he reveals some really interesting points.
One of them was about Hazard’s decision to stay in the summer, rather than move to Real Madrid, who have been chasing his signature for some time.
Eden decided to stay, and while Real Madrid have been having a nightmare season, Chelsea have been excellent, with Hazard the key man in form as Maurizio Sarri’s team stay unbeaten at the top of the league.
It’s hard to argue with that. He looks like having a much better chance of winning a trophy this year by staying, and he will have even more leverage next summer. Real may sort themselves out and appoint a manager Hazard is a fan of.
He might even sign a new deal? Who knows. Thorgan had some things to say about that too.
Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur quotes from the interview in Belgian posted on his Twitter:
“Eden made the right decision to stay at Chelsea. Chelsea weren’t keen on selling him and he had a strong start of the season. Real are in a complex period. They sacked their manager, key players left. They have to rebuild.”
