Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has been in constant touch with Elseid Hysaj as his agent and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis clash over a proposed new contract for the player.
Hysaj was on Sarri’s wanted list in the summer, but a move failed to materialise as Chelsea agreed not to poach players from Napoli after signing the coach and Jorginho.
The Albanian has continued to remain a key player in Carlo Ancelotti’s team due to his ability play in both full-back positions, but his future at the club has again come under the scanner.
According to Tele Sport, his agent and Napoli supremo De Laurentiis have clashed over the terms of a proposed new contract for Hysaj.
Napoli are prepared to offer the defender a new deal worth €2m per year, but his agent has demanded the club offer wages to the tune of €3m per year.
The agent’s financial demands have angered De Laurentiis and Napoli are now considering selling the defender at the end of the season.
Chelsea are prepared to jump into the chase for Hysaj if he becomes available and Sarri has been in touch with his former Napoli player.
The Italian has assured the player that he will again try and take him to Chelsea if he is ready for a move.
