‘Chelsea star is so good I’ve forgotten his name’ – Sky Sports man’s hilarious moment to forget

Danny Murphy and Liam Rosenior were waxing lyrical about Ross Barkley on Sky Sports’ The Debate show on Thursday night.

Barkley has been one of the shining lights of the Maurizio Sarri revolution at Stamford Bridge, finally living up to the hype from his Everton days.

He has been entrusted by the new Italian boss to take that third spot in the midfield three in recent weeks alongside N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.

And the two pundits believe he now has a manager who trusts in him, but also team-mates that bring the best out of him.

Barkley takes his position in a Chelsea team that has some big name players, except those big name players are not entirely memorable – to Rosenior at least.

In praising Barkley on the Sky Sports show on Thursday night, former Brighton player Rosenior got so animated that he forgot one of the Blues’ players’ names, much to the delight of Murphy.

Rosenior said: “What Sarri has done is seen a player that fits into his way of playing, and he’s got top, top midfield players in there helping him become a better player – Kante, [Mateo] Kovacic is a great player pushing him, the holding midfielder who is absolutely outstanding, a guy that’s so good I’ve forgotten his name now, Jorginho, that’s the one, he’s a fantastic player.

“He’s improving with the players he’s playing with.

“He’s shown bravery coming out of his comfort zone, he could have stayed at Everton for his whole career, but he’s gone to Chelsea wanting to improve as a player and he’s reaping the benefits.”
