Chelsea have been in great form this season and it’s largely due to the change in mentality around Stamford Bridge that has effectively given forwards such as Eden Hazard the license to govern the flanks and opposition box.
The Belgian is Chelsea’s hero and his great form suggests he will remain the Blues’ go-to man for the months to come.
His incredible numbers and consistent form means he is not just heads and shoulders above all his teammates, but also outshines the rest of the players in the English top flight.
Hazard has become the reason the Maurizio Sarri’s start to life at Chelsea has been smooth.
It’s been all easy so far for the Italian tactician who has yet to taste defeat in all competitions since arriving, with the exception of the Community Shield match loss to Manchester City.
Since the start of the season, Hazard has either scored or assisted in every single game with the exception of the draw against West Ham in the Premier League.
As confirmed by Transfermarkt, Hazard has scored or assisted at least once in the eight games he has played in this season, with his only blip coming against the Hammers.
It is unthinkable that the Belgium international can be dropped for any game this season, as long as it matters to Sarri and his technical team.
Last season, there were games where Hazard had to make way for other wingers in the second half of games but this season, Sarri dares not drop him.
Moments of brilliance like that against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup last Wednesday are rare in the English game, and Hazard currently holds the mantle as the best player who cannot be touched.
