He was one of the stars of Chelsea’s 2017/18 campaign but appearances have been hard to come by for Andreas Christensen under Maurizio Sarri this season.
The Dane is yet to appear in the Premier League for the Blues, starting both of the Europa League matches and the Carabao Cup win over Liverpool last month.
However, that doesn’t seem to be enough for the centre-back who has had to watch from the sidelines while David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger play in the heart of the defence.
Christensen told Danish publication BT : “Right now, it’s not a good season for me, but I have to find some way to get back on. How? I do not know, but it’s up to me to figure that out.
“But right now it looks hard. We have good results and we play super football, which only makes it harder. It’s hard for me personally, but for the team it looks great.
“I cannot show so much patience again. I’m 22 years old and I really want to play.
“In the last three seasons I’ve played a big role for the teams I have been with, so it’s clear that I cannot see myself staying if my current situation continues in the future.
“It’s too early to talk about change for now, and when that might happen, but it’s clear that this is not a good situation for me.”
However, his comments have led some Chelsea fans split over whether or not the defender should be getting more of a chance with the Blues undefeated this season.
Andreas Christensen warns he may leave Chelsea due to lack of games always going to happen players want to play not sit on the bench and at his age i don"t blame him

He's a superb footballer. I'm not surprised he's unhappy warming the pine. https://t.co/sQiauptXNM

Should really be doing the talking on the pitch . He's been very poor when given chances this season

Needs to play better when he gets the chance. He had an underwhelming WC and has looked shaky when on the pitch all season. Hasn’t given Sarri a reason to play him more.

Not convinced Christensen will go on to make it at Chelsea. Clearly having a confidence crisis since the traumas of last season. Fortunate Zouma was loaned out or would be further down the pecking order.

But twice he was given opportunities he nearly cost us the match. Obviously they can’t bench Rudiger and Luiz who have been on their A game

Andreas Christensen has slipped down the pecking order at chelsea and is now lacking game time in competitive football. I still do believe as a defender he will become the closest thing to JT if he doesn’t give up and works harder. At 22 he still has a lot to offer.

Unpopular opinion: Andreas Christensen is overrated by us Chelsea fans.
