CHELSEA could keep hold of Eden Hazard as Antonio Conte is top of Real Madrid’s managerial wish list.
Julen Lopetegui is under severe pressure at the Bernabeu with reports claiming he will be sacked before El Clasico on Sunday.
Real face Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League this evening which could be the final game for the former Spain manager.
Conte is reportedly the frontrunner to replace Lopetegui although no definitive decision has been made.
And the Mirror claim the fact Hazard was did not love playing for the Italian could be a big factor.
The Belgian is known to have not enjoyed the more defensive style of football Conte employed at Stamford Bridge.
Former Real Madrid star Guti and current coach Santiago Solari are also said to be in the running.
Lopetegui has vowed to fight on and try and save his job at the Bernabeu though.
He said: ”Results haven’t been great but we are going to turn this around.
“What I’ve learned about this club is to fight, that is the DNA of this club.
“That’s what we’re going to do, fight, both the players and the coaching staff.”
Hazard has been in sensational form for Chelsea so far this season, netting eight goals in all competitions.
That has led to comparisons of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
And officials at Chelsea will be hopeful any appointment of Conte can sway Hazard to stay at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are looking to tie down the 27-year-old to a new long-term contract.
Chelsea return to action on Thursday when they take on BATE Borisov in the Europa League.
