Hazard’s form has been central to Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the new season but his future remains uncertain with talks over a new deal having stalled.
The 27-year-old came close to leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer amid interest from Real Madrid and Hazard, whose current deal expires in the summer of 2020, admitted earlier this week he still harbours the ambition to play in Spain and challenge for the Ballon d’Or.
Asked if, to win the Ballon d’Or, he would need to go to Spain, and replied:
‘That’s why I want to go maybe.’ Press on whether he can still get even better, Hazard said:
‘Of course, we can always improve in football.
‘We can score more goals, more assists. I think I am in a team that is helping me as well also. So yeah I can improve.’
