Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a £20million move for 18-year-old Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali.
The Italian youngster, who often plays a defensive role in the middle of the park, is said to be of interest to Italian giants such as Juventus, Milan, Inter and Roma.
However the Blues are looking to steal a march on the Serie A sides.
According to the Sun, Maurizio Sarri sent club scouts to watch Tonali during Brescia’s 4-1 win over Padova in Italy’s second division last weekend.
It is understood that the now-Chelsea manager first expressed his interest while still Napoli boss last season, and is now plotting a £20million bid to secure the services of his fellow Italian.
Tonali’s consistently impressive performances with both Italy’s under-19s and Brescia have made him hot property in his homeland, and he has already recorded three assists in seven Serie B matches so far this season.
He has started every league game for his team in the early stages of 2018/19 and his current contract at the club runs until 2021.
