Chelsea have made signing Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen their priority for the upcoming January transfer window, according to a report from Italy.
The Blues have been perennially linked with a move for the Jamaican winger, who has emerged as a talismanic figure for Leverkusen in recent Bundesliga seasons.
Bailey has often been touted with a switch to the Premier League, with Liverpool and Arsenal having been previously linked.
However, according to reports in September, Bailey’s preferred destination for a winter move is, in fact, Stamford Bridge, with speculation surrounding a transfer continuing to surface.
The 21-year-old only penned a new five-year contract with Bundesliga giants Leverkusen in August, but it seems a move to the Premier League could yet be on the cards in the near future.
Bailey has struggled to replicate his form from past seasons so far this term, however, and has only found the net on one occasion in the new Bundesliga campaign.
