Eden Hazard has sent out some more mixed messages over his Chelsea future but has ruled out an exit to Real Madrid this January.
The 27-year-old has been in stunning form for the Blues and has scored seven times in the Premier League so far, while his winner over Liverpool at Anfield has just been voted the best goal of the Carabao Cup third round.
The Belgian skipper also had an excellent World Cup for this country in Russia, taking the side to the semi-final, but the Blues were able to keep hold of their influential talisman, with his contract running out at the end of the 2019/20 season.
If he continues his blistering form then Real could well come back in for him this summer, but he won’t be heading off midway through the current season.
When asked in his pre-Switzerland press conference about having to live in Spain to win the Ballon d’Or, Hazard joked: “That’s why I want to go, maybe.”
But when followed up when asked whether or not he might leave in January, Hazard replied with: “No.”
Blues supporters will be hoping that Hazard signs a new deal with the club, however it remains to be seen whether or not the Belgian will finally make the switch to his ‘dream’ club.
