It has been over a week since Chelsea were drawn away to Liverpool in the third round of the Carabao Cup, however there is yet to be a date and time confirmed for the game.
Blues fans will need to travel to Anfield if they want to continue following their side, but it has yet to be decided whether the game will be played on either Tuesday September 25 or the next day on the Wednesday, while there is an outside possibility of the match being played on the Thursday.
The issue comes with Everton being drawn at home to Southampton in the competition, meaning that either the match at Goodison Park or at Anfield will have to be switched.
However, football.london understands that the plans for the game are being finalised and are set to be announced at the beginning of this week.
That will be around ten days after the game was originally announced, however with both Everton and Chelsea playing on the Sunday before the Carabao Cup game, there is something of a sticking point there.
Chelsea’s next game after the Carabao Cup match will be Liverpool once again in the Premier League on Saturday evening, with both teams currently holding a 100% record.
The Blues will no doubt be hoping that the match will be moved to the Wednesday so that they have an extra day rest, but there is no doubt that Maurizio Sarri will be looking to rotate his players.
