Pedro, Emerson, Kovacic, van Ginkel – Latest Chelsea injury news and expected return dates

Chelsea face West Ham United at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

It’s five straight wins in the Premier League at the start of the season for new head coach Maurizio Sarri.

The Blues, who won the FA Cup last term, were beaten by the reigning champions of England Manchester City at Wembley Stadium at the beginning of the month in the Community Shield and bounced back in style with a 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town in their Premier League opener.

They followed that up with a 3-2 win over London rivals Arsenal with Pedro, Alvaro Morata and Marcos Alonso all on the scoresheet in a five-goal thriller at Stamford Bridge.

Then a late own-goal from DeAndre Yedlin secured a 2-1 win over Newcastle United at St James’ Park after Joselu had cancelled out Eden Hazard’s opener from the penalty spot.

It took until the second half for the Blues to break down Bournemouth before the international break, while Hazard’s hat-trick inspired a 4-1 win over Cardiff City last weekend and there was also a win in the Europa League against PAOK earlier in the week.

With the games now coming thick and fast, Sarri has somewhat of a selection headache on his hands and he has some concerns over loan signing from Real Madrid Mateo Kovacic.

At this stage of the season, it’s unlikely that any manager will have a fully fit squad.

The Italian is no different. He has been rather lucky in that he hasn’t had to deal with too many injuries since being appointed, but there are still a few concerns ahead of the game in east London.

We have taken a look at the latest situation in the Blues’ treatment room ahead of the game against the Hammers thanks to the good people at physioroom.com.
