Chelsea have put the disappointment of their limp showing in the Community Shield firmly behind them, starting the Premier League campaign with a quartet of wins against Huddersfield, Arsenal, Newcastle and Bournemouth.
In what has been an incredibly short space of time, Maurizio Sarri has completely transformed the way in which the Blues go about their football, with only Manchester City bettering their current tally of ten top-flight goals.
What the West London outfit really lack, however, is a striker who can keep pace with the likes of Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero, Mohamed Salah and Romelu Lukaku in the scoring charts, with Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud registering just once between them so far this term.
One man who appears capable of solving that problem, and who has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent times, is Italian international Ciro Immobile, a centre-forward who has been scoring for fun in Serie A of late:
In fact, over the course of the last two top-flight campaigns in what has traditionally been a tough league to score goals in, the 28-year-old has hit the back of the net a staggering 52 times in his 70 appearances for Lazio.
To put things in context, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored one fewer goal for Real Madrid in La Liga during the same period, whilst a 21-goal season back at Torino in 2013/14 shows that Immobile is far from being a flash in the pan:
Although Lazio will be desperate to hang on to their star striker in January, a sizeable transfer fee and the inclusion of the likes of Giroud, Davide Zappacosta and Emerson Palmieri in any negotiations could tempt the Rome-based side into doing business.
