Referee announced for Chelsea vs Bournemouth – and it may not please the fans

Chelsea have the chance to make it four wins in a row to open their Premier League campaign under Maurizio Sarri when they host Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues have made a fantastic start to the season, but so have the Cherries as they remain unbeaten with two wins and a draw from their opening three matches, and it could be an entertaining match if the referee has anything to do with proceedings.

Lee Mason will take charge of the game at Stamford Bridge this weekend having been the man in the middle for two of the Blues’ Premier League matches last season, including against Huddersfield Town which left the Blues out of pocket.

Chelsea were charged for failing to control their players after Mason blew for half-time just as Willian had been about to take a corner, leaving the Blues players and bench incensed.

Antonio Conte was also unhappy with the amount of time wasting that was taking place by the Terriers.

However the draw did mean that David Wagner’s side managed to stay in the Premier League for another season.

Matthew Wilkes and Marc Perry will be the assistant referees for the game and David Coote will be the fourth official for the game at Stamford Bridge.
