Maurizio Sarri told N’Golo Kante ‘incredible’ in new Chelsea FC role

N’Golo Kante looked incredible in his new Chelsea FC role in a 3-2 win over Arsenal on Saturday evening, according to Blues legend Pat Nevin.

The France international has been given license to push further forward under new Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri.

Kante scored in Chelsea FC’s 3-0 win against Huddersfield Town at John Smith’s Stadium in their Premier League opener earlier in August.

The Chelsea FC star started alongside summer signing Jorginho for the visit of the Gunners as the Italy international looked to sit back and protect the defence.

Goals from Pedro Rodriguez, Alvaro Morata and Marcos Alonso sealed a 3-2 win against Arsenal in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

Kante had three shots on goal, completed 92 per cent of his passes, won three tackles and completed on dribble in a versatile performance.

Former Chelsea FC winger Nevin heaped praise on Kante for his impressive impact on the London derby.

“The question will be asked by many Chelsea fans, is it really a good idea to have so many attacking players on the field and also asking our best defensive midfielder, N’Golo Kante, to play that much further up the field, especially when we come to face the very best sides?” Nevin told Chelsea FC’s website.

“Time will tell but as I have suggested already on this page, Maurizio Sarri is unlikely to stray from his stated style.

“Kante himself looked incredible in his new role, making runs behind the Arsenal defence that any centre-forward would be proud of.

“It does leave Jorginho more often than not as the deepest midfielder and his best talents are clearly creating from there rather than covering defensively.”

Kante won the World Cup in the summer with France after their 4-2 victory over Croatia in the final.

The Blues midfielder was named the PFA player of the year after he inspired Chelsea FC to Premier League title glory in 2017.
