Maurizio Sarri has insisted that he is expecting Eden Hazard to stay at Chelsea FC beyond the summer transfer window.
The Belgian playmaker’s situation at Stamford Bridge has been a constant source of speculation all summer after the Blues missed out on Champions League qualification following their fifth-placed finish last season.
Hazard has been strongly touted as a target for Real Madrid this summer but there is yet to be any official confirmation of the Spanish club’s interest in signing him.
The 27-year-old has two years left to run on his current Chelsea FC contract as he prepares for the new season with the Blues.
Hazard struck the winning penalty as Chelsea FC beat Lyon in their final pre-season friendly on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.
And Chelsea FC boss Sarri has now insisted that there are no problems with Hazard after he returned from his summer holidays earlier this month.
Asked about the Hazard situation at his post-match news conference on Tuesday night, Sarri said: “I don’t see this problem in this moment.
“I’ve spoken with Eden two or three times in the last two days. We’ve spoken about everything. This Hazard problem is not present.”
Chelsea FC will get their Premier League campaign under way with a clash against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
The Blues will be aiming to break back into the top four this season after they finished fifth last term.
