CHELSEA could make a £13m loss on flop signing Tiemoue Bakayoko if the player joins AC Milan this summer.
Chelsea are in talks to offload Bakayoko onto the Serie A giants.
Everton and Borussia Dortmund are also keen on the France international but Milan have held talks with his agent-brother today.
And a deal for Bakayoko to head to Milan would hit Chelsea’s pocket hard.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea and Milan are close to agreeing a loan move for Bakayoko.
The deal will last for the 2018/19 season and include an option to buy.
And that’s where Chelsea face making a loss.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the purchase option will be worth between £27m and £31.5m (€30m and €35m).
Chelsea only signed Bakayoko from Monaco 12 months ago in a deal worth £40m.
He was meant to be the solution to Chelsea’s midfield problem left when they sold Nemanja Matic to Manchester United.
But Bakayoko failed to make an impact under ex-manager Antonio Conte and new boss Maurizio Sarri is happy to see him leave.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are all set to announce goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga’s arrival today or tomorrow.
The £72m signing from Athletic Bilbao will be Sarri’s second arrival of the transfer window.
A statement on Athletic’s official website read: “Kepa Arrizabalaga has met the requirements for the valid unilateral termination of the work contract that linked him to Athletic Club.
“The amount of the compensation established in the contract has been deposited.
“Athletic thanks the player for his contribution during the time he has remained in our club.”
And Real Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic is having a medical at the west London club ahead of his loan move.
