Scotland youth star signs first professional deal with Chelsea

Scotland youth star Billy Gilmour has signed his first professional contract with Chelsea.

The 16-year-old has impressed since joining the London giants from Rangers last year, starring as the Blues’ Under 18s completed a quadruple last season.

He has now been rewarded for his displays with a full-time deal at Stamford Bridge.

Gilmour leapt through the Scotland youth ranks after he was called up to Scot Gemmill’s Under 21s for the Toulon Tournament this summer.

The playmaker didn’t look out of place amongst more experienced players, however, and played four times as Scotland reached the semi-finals.

Chelsea to demand £75m Man Utd star in deal for £60m winger

Chelsea FC has settled on an agreement to sign Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain in a £53m deal this summer, according to a report in Italy.

Italian media outlet Sports Mediaset, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Chelsea FC and Juventus have agreed to a deal to sign the Argentina international in the current transfer window.

The same article states that the Juventus forward will command a transfer fee in the region of €60m (£53m) to bolster Chelsea FC’s attacking options ahead of Maurizio Sarri’s anticipated appointment.

According to the same story, Chelsea FC still have some work to do to complete a deal to make Sarri their next manager following a difficult season under his compatriot Antonio Conte.

Argentina international Higuain has been linked with a potential move to the west London side after he netted 16 times in Serie A last term.

He previously worked with Sarri during his stint at Napoli and netted 36 goals under the Italian coach in 2015-16.

Chelsea FC finished in the fifth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second successive campaign.

The Blues were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final thanks to Eden Hazard’s winner from the spot.
