It’s quite difficult to believe that Chelsea would be interested in Alisson Becker considering they already have Thibaut Courtois in goal.
However, the Italian press seems adamant that the Blues are keen on bringing the Brazilian shot-stopper to Stamford Bridge, even if AS Roma are asking for a fee starting at around €70m for their new star.
Courtois’ desire to return to Spain at some point in his career has to be one of the worst-kept secrets in football these days, and if Real Madrid comes knocking, this could be the summer where he gets his wish granted.
The Spanish giants are also interested in Alisson, but, as things stand, Il Tempo believes Chelsea could have the upper hand, having offered the Brazil international more money than the Champions League champions.
After a ‘new meeting’ with the ‘various agents’ working on a possible deal, the Premier League side are said to have offered the goalkeeper €5.5m/year post-tax compared to Real Madrid’s €5m.
This transfer, as well as Courtois’ potential exit, would obviously take place after the World Cup comes to an end, with both goalkeepers set to play each on Friday evening.
When that time comes, it will ‘the moment’ to send Roma the offer of €75-80m required to agree to a sale.
Until Courtois leaves, we can’t see this happening, and there have been no suggestions Real Madrid have turned their attention to the Belgian just yet.
Perhaps everything will accelerate once everyone returns from Russia.
Chelsea star remains in talks over transfer away despite failed £50million bid
Sky Sports have tweeted a breaking story regarding Chelsea winger Willian and a possible transfer to Barcelona.
The Brazil international has supposedly been the subject of a £50million bid from the Catalan giants, which Chelsea turned down.
However, they claim talks remain ongoing, so it may still be that Willian will end up swapping Stamford Bridge for the Nou Camp this summer.
Willian seems an ideal fit for Barcelona due to his technical and intelligent playing style, and he could be ideal to replace disappointing forward Ousmane Dembele in Ernesto Valverde’s squad.

The young Frenchman has largely flopped since joining from Borussia Dortmund last summer, meaning the club are yet to truly replace Neymar in the attack.
Of course, Willian is no Neymar, but he has shone for Chelsea and Brazil down the years and is the kind of experienced, big-game player who could be beneficial to this Barca squad after some high-profile recent departures.
Influential figures like Xavi and Andres Iniesta leaving the dressing room can’t be good for Barcelona, but Willian would surely go some way to repairing that damage.
The 29-year-old is a hard-worker and proven winner who’s picked up two Premier League titles in his time in England.
