Kenedy is one of the most promising young players on our books. He proved that in the second-half of the season during a short stint with Newcastle United.
The Brazilian scored two goals and provided two assists during his 13 Premier League appearances for The Magpies, fast becoming a valued member of Rafa Benitez’s squad.
We all knew what we were capable of, he just needed to be provided with the opportunity to show it. Despite having done so at St. James’ Park, Chelsea may still be tempted to cash-in on him this summer.
According to Chronicle Live, Chelsea will need to sell in order to spend this summer, that’s the reality of missing out on Champions League qualification. It’s claimed that Kenedy could be one player that the club considers as expendable.
Chronicle Live report that Chelsea would prefer to part with Kenedy’s services on a permanent basis. Another loan move appears to be off the table. The report claims that the 22-year-old is valued in the region of £20M.
By the end of 2018, both Willian and Pedro will be heading into their thirties. Kenedy appears to be a ready-made replacement for the aforementioned duo. Yet, if the information in this report is accurate, Chelsea have little intention of using him.
Following a Premier League campaign which was a tale of the brilliance of former Blues Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne, you’d think that Chelsea would learn from their mistakes.
That doesn’t appear to be the case, though. Kenedy’s departure would likely be another to come back to bite us in the backside.
