Bayern Munich have been made aware of Robert Lewandowski’s desire to leave the club amid transfer rumours linking him with Chelsea this summer.
This has been confirmed by his agent Pini Zahavi, as it looks increasingly likely Lewandowski could move away from the Allianz Arena for a new challenge before next season.
This surely makes the Poland international one of the most exciting potential additions on the market this year, with Chelsea recently linked with a £100million move for him by the Telegraph.
That report states the Blues could raise funds for the deal by offloading Alvaro Morata, who has struggled up front in his first season in the Premier League, with Lewandowski a huge upgrade if he were to come in.
Zahavi now looks to have given Chelsea real hope of landing the 29-year-old after telling Bild his client needs a change and that Bayern are aware of his situation.
‘Robert feels he needs a change and a new challenge in his career. The managers of Bayern know about it,’ the player’s representative said.
Lewandowski has a superb record of 151 goals in 195 appearances for Bayern, which followed another impressive spell in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund.
It would be great to finally see such a top player in the Premier League and he looks to have all the ingredients to be a big success in England.
A new striker does seem on Chelsea’s agenda this summer as Corriere dello Sport also link them with an interest in Inter Milan star Mauro Icardi.
Report: West Ham linked with Chelsea midfielder
Media reports have linked Chelsea midfielder Loftus Cheek with a permanent move to either West Ham or Everton this summer as well as Crystal Palace where he spent last season on loan.
The midfielder who joined Chelsea’s academy when he was eight has struggled to break into the first team at Stamford Bridge playing just 22 in four years since his senior debut in 2014.
Loftus-Cheek was an integral part of Crystal Palace’s side and he helped steer them away from relegation trouble.
The 22-year-old’s performances earned him an England call-up last November and he’s been selected as part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for this summer’s World Cup.
Hodgson has made it clear that he wants to sign Loftus-Cheek on a permanent basis but the youngster may receive other offers over the summer which could include. West Ham
Former Chelsea player Pat Nevin does not think he has a Chelsea future and has urged him to get the regular first-team football to avoid stalling his development.
“He’s done well,” he told West London Sport.
“But there’s a difference between playing at Crystal Palace and aiming to be a player at a top-four club like Chelsea.
“People are saying he just needs a chance and should be given a chance but it’s very different at Chelsea.
“He needs to be playing regularly at a high level and Chelsea can just go out and buy world-class players.
“I don’t think that it is fair on a young player if he only gets 10 games as part of a squad next season. I don’t like to see a young player’s growth being stifled.”
