The sun is shining, the weather is sweet and we’ve got a Thursday night Premier League treat to see out this glorious day with Burnley hosting Chelsea.

Sean Dyche’s men kicked off their season with a 3-2 victory at Stamford Bridge and know a similar result this evening will take them a step closer to European football.

Will the Clarets end their 51-year wait to play in Europe or will Chelsea warm up for Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final in style? Let’s find out!

There will, of course, be no Marcos Alonso in the Chelsea line-up after he received a three-match ban for an act of violent conduct towards Southampton striker Shane Long.

The Spaniard was charged following an incident in the 43rd minute of Chelsea’s 3-2 victory at St. Mary’s in which he caught Long with a late challenge.

Alonso denied the charge and further submitted that, if found proven, the suspension would be excessive, but an Independent Regulatory Commission rejected the left-back’s appeal.

It means Alonso will miss Chelsea’s next three games, starting with tonight’s trip to Turf Moor, although his absence will arguably have a greater significance in Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
