Huge injury blow for Chelsea ahead of Tottenham clash in April

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen limped out of the 2-1 FA Cup quarter final victory over Leicester City with what appeared to be a groin injury.

The Danish international was forced off in the 11th minute of extra time and was replaced by Gary Cahill.

At the time of writing, there has been no word on the seriousness of the 21-year-old’s injury, and Chelsea fans will be hoping that it was just cramp after he was on the field for such a long time.

Denmark have two international friendlies lined up over the next few days, against Panama and Chile, and there’s a chance he could be forced to withdraw from their squad.

Chelsea will be hoping to have their star defender fit for the home game with Tottenham on April 1st, a game that will have huge ramifications on whether or not the Blues will be playing in the Champions League next season.
