‘We’ve lost him!’ – Chelsea fans panic over Michy Batshuayi’s future after Dortmund tweet

Michy Batshuayi’s time in Germany has gotten off to a flying start as the Belgian forward has bagged three goals and an assist in his first two appearances in a Borussia Dortmund shirt.

The Chelsea striker made a deadline day switch to the Bundesliga club as part of a three-way transfer which saw Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave Dortmund for Arsenal and Olivier Giroud make the short trip across London to Stamford Bridge.

Batshuayi has found game time hard to come by this season as Antonio Conte appears to have lost faith in the 24-year-old’s ability to lead the line.

Even with star striker Alvaro Morata out injured for much of the last three months, Conte has opted to start with Eden Hazard as a false nine rather than Batshuayi up top.

Now he appears to have found a new lease of life at the Westfalenstadion. On Saturday, Batshuayi shared his joy at making his home debut for the German side.

The Dortmund fans are known around Europe for being particularly vocal and they appear to have quickly accepted Batshuayi as one of their own.

For the second game in a row, the Belgian opened the scoring for his new side as they claimed a 2-0 home win over Hamburg, with Mario Gotze adding the second late in added time.

While Chelsea fans are happy to see Batshuayi flourishing on loan, they can’t help but worry that his time in Dortmund may be extended beyond the current loan.

Saturday’s tweets only made their fears worse, as many Blues supporters wondered if they would ever see him in a Chelsea shirt again.
