‘Come back like Drogba’ – Chelsea fans on Twitter feeling sad after club’s transfer post

Chelsea fans have always been excited about the prospect of progressing players at the club, but some news hit hard as a much-loved figure was the latest to leave Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are still yet to replace the iconic Diego Costa after his quite remarkable goalscoring figures in their title-winning season, as the inconsistent Alvaro Morata has struggled to replicate his early season form.

And, having managed to secure a £18 million deal for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, it looks as if the goalscoring reigns are being handed over to the Frenchman.

But, one player who’s been unfortunate during his time in the English capital has been Frenchman Michy Batshuayi, a promising young striker that’s managed to manufacture better goalscoring stats than Morata.

Although, somehow Antonio Conte has overlooked the 24-year-old as he’s become needless to the Italian’s plans, which has seen Borussia Dortmund secure the services of the striker in a loan deal as a part of a three-way striker switch.

Indeed, as news filtered through of the departure of one of the Blues’ fan favourites, a man known for his hilarity on social media, and commonly referred to as ‘Batman’, Chelsea’s Twitter account took to notifying fans of their strikers departure, as he heads off in search of regular minutes in the Bundesliga.

Following the club’s post, fans were quick to thank the fan favourite for his time so far at Stamford Bridge, as the Frenchman will be dearly missed by many of the Blues faithful.

Nevertheless, here’s a look at exactly the sort of reaction that was given off on social media…
