Chelsea goalkeeper Mitchell Beeney has joined Sligo Rovers on loan until the end of June.
And Derry City – who face the Bit O’Red at the Showgrounds tomorrow night – have bolstered their ranks by landing Jack Doyle on loan from Blackburn Rovers.
Beeney, 22, has been involved in Chelsea first-team squads for Premier League and European games.
He won the U21 Premier League title and FA Youth Cup, and the England youth international had previous loan spells with Newport County and Crawley.
Rovers boss Gerard Lyttle said: “He’s probably approaching a crossroads in his career. He comes here with the chance to play more first-team football.
“I think Schlings (Micheal Schlingermann) needs this competition. He hasn’t had it beforehand with respect to the other goalkeepers and it makes a huge difference.
“Micheal is a great pro and both he and Mitchell will have a battle now to be number one.”
Beeney said: “I’m keen to get in the team and play as many games as I can.”
