LUIS ENRIQUE would win trophies if he took over as Chelsea boss.
That’s according to Barcelona playmaker Andres Iniesta.
Antonio Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge is in doubt following a disappointing second season in charge.
The Italian has publicly criticised the board a number of times this campaign and has been linked with a switch to PSG, as well as a return as coach of the national team.
Enrique is the favourite to succeed Conte and has been out of work since leaving his post as Barca boss when his contract expired last summer.
The La Liga giants visit Chelsea in the Champions League on Tuesday and ahead of the clash, Iniesta has backed his former manager to succeed in England.
“Luis Enrique is an excellent coach,” he told reporters.
“In Barcelona he showed the incredible level he has reached and I think he could win trophies at any club – and that includes Chelsea.
“It won’t be easy because Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“But when you see what Enrique developed in Barcelona, then I think it is also possible in London.
“The Premier League is a tough competition but, for me, he is capable of managing any big English club.”
Chelsea are currently fourth in the Premier League, three points behind second-placed Manchester United, who they face at Old Trafford next Sunday.
