Antonio Conte slammed for subbing Eden Hazard vs Man United

Man United 2 – Chelsea 1

It was a superb Sunday for Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Taking on Chelsea in a huge battle to finish the season in the top four, Man United needed to win.

And things didn’t start well for United. Alvaro Morata hit the bar after three minutes while Willian fired Chelsea in front on the half hour with a counter attack.

Romelu Lukaku ended his goal drought against the top six drawing United level before the break.

With 15 minutes to go Lukaku turned provided. His cross was headed into the Chelsea net by sub Jesse Lingard.

Antonio Conte slammed for subbing Eden Hazard

Two minutes before Lingard scored, Antonio Conte made a strange decision.

He took of Chelsea’s best player Eden Hazard and he replaced him with Pedro.

While it’s difficult to say that substitution directly contributed to Chelsea’s demise, there didn’t seem any logic behind the change.

Hazard, of course, has been in fine scoring form in recent weeks.
