‘Sign him and fix this mess’ … Chelsea fans urge club to act as 26-year-old target shines

Reported Chelsea target Riyad Mahrez impressed as 10-man Leicester City picked up a goalless draw against the Premier League holders at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, and Blues fans have urged their club to sign the winger.

The Sun reported on January 5 that the west London outfit were ready to step up their interest in the 26-year-old with Antonio Conte keen to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window, and that could be even more of a priority following their result against the Foxes.

The Blues have now drawn four successive matches in all competitions, and Conte certainly would have been impressed with Mahrez’s performance at the Bridge, where he proved to be a real menace to his side’s defence.

Chelsea supporters were quick to have their say on the Algeria international’s display via social media, and while one said “if we had any ambition we’d go out and sign him now”, another urged the club to “sign Mahrez and fix this mess”.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…

  1. sign Mahrez please chelsea!!! As he is a left footer and he will be able to cut inside and take brilliant shoot that will lead to a goal. As the team want to see more goals from their wide man.

And for Morata I don’t know what he is sitting whole day doing? I don’t know why he don’t hit the gym and get that weak self out and all so he sit all game in the box waiting for stupid crosses that would not reached him to head home and hides behind defenders when the the ball is in the middfild area he should be coming to join the middfild, playing the ball beating one or two men then make a pass or taking shot outside the box or arriving late at the box these where skills of Diego Costa.
Morata must be involved the games by coming to the middfild and collect balls.
Morata has speed and he can dribble with the ball well why don’t he make use of that? And be taking shots don’t wait for headers please!!!
