CHELSEA boss Antonio Conte will be reunited with former Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal when Leon Goretzka completes his expected move from Schalke to Bayern Munich.
That’s according to journalist Manuel Veth, who made the transfer claim as speculation swirls that Goretzka is set for a summer switch to the Allianz Arena.
Conte signed Vidal from Bayer Leverkusen when he was Juventus manager in a deal worth around £9m back in 2009.
And the duo subsequently won five trophies together in Turin, including the Serie A title on three occasions.
Conte left Juventus for the Italy job in 2014 with Vidal returning to Germany with Bayern 12 months later.
Veth reckons the duo will link up again though when Goretzka heads to Bavaria at the end of the season.
“Sense has been for quite some time that Bayern had nailed down Goretzka,” he wrote on Twitter last night.
“We will likely find out as early as tomorrow if the deal has in fact gone through.
“Goretzka to Bayern would also explain Arturo Vidal’s link to Chelsea.
“From what I understand it is likely the Chilean will be re-united with Conte next summer if/when the Goretzka deal goes through.”
Chelsea, meanwhile, continue their busy festive period when they travel to London rivals Arsenal on Wednesday night.
