EDIN DZEKO wants assurances of first-team football under Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
The Blues are desperate to sign a target man, with Conte eyeing moves for Andy Carroll, Peter Crouch and Ashley Barnes in recent weeks.
Conte doesn’t trust his current back-up forward Michy Batshuayi and the Italian is desperate to sign an experienced striker before the transfer window shuts.
And former Manchester City hitman Dzeko now tops Chelsea’s wish list.
However, according to the Evening Standard, Roma star Dzeko wants assurances he’ll get regular game time under Conte before joining.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international knows he will be signed to play second fiddle to Alvaro Morata at Stamford Bridge.
Dzeko, who has scored 61 goals in 117 appearances for Roma, wants to get regular game time if he is to leave the Serie A giants, where he’s their No.1 striker.
The Standard also say that Dzeko initially reacted angrily after finding out Roma were willing to sell him a month after he bought a flash house in the city.
Chelsea are back in action on Wednesday night when the Blues travel to Arsenal for their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.
