Cristiano Ronaldo to Chelsea: Real Madrid star open to Stamford Bridge move

CRISTIANO RONALDO could be heading to Chelsea.

The Real Madrid talisman has been heavily linked with a move away from La Liga in recent months.

Ronaldo, 32, has been tipped to complete a sensation return to Manchester United to reunite with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

However, according to The Sun, the Portugal international is considering a move to Chelsea.

They claim Ronaldo is unhappy in Spain after allegations he didn’t pay his £13m tax bill.

And the Real star is open to moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer, with Alexis Sanchez’s move to United this month ruling out any return to Old Trafford for Ronaldo.

A source told the newspaper: “Ronaldo to Chelsea would be a stunning deal, but it makes a lot of sense if you think about it.

“Chelsea need more attacking players and if United don’t want Ronaldo, it’s very unlikely he would go to Liverpool or Man City because of the rivalry.

“So that leaves Chelsea as the only club who could afford his wages.

“It would also mean he was living in a cosmopolitan city, which is something that is important to him now he has four children.”

Chelsea fear they will lose Eden Hazard this summer, with Real and PSG chasing the Belgium international.

Real are having a horror season under Zinedine Zidane this time out.

The Spanish champions trail Barcelona by 16 points in La Liga.
