CHELSEA news is coming in thick and fast and we are on hand to bring you all the very latest.

Chelsea news live updates: gossip and rumours from Stamford Bridge

Thursday January 25

Dzeko visa issue

06.15: Chelsea’s deal to bring Edin Dzeko to Stamford Bridge is apparently being held up by one major issue.

Talks between club and player have only been held over the phone and not in person because of a visa problem.

That is according to Bosnian journalist Haris Mrkonja, who claims to have spoken to the striker’s agent.

“I talked with #Dzeko agent over the phone,” Mrkonja wrote on Twitter.

“He claims he still isn’t in London, and still waiting for his British visa.

“Contacts with #CFC proceed over the phone.

“Only when he gets his visa he’ll be able to travel to #London.”

Mahrez spotted

05.30: Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez was apparently spotted at Chelsea’s match with Arsenal last night.

In the video, which was posted by Arsenal Fan TV, supporters can be heard shouting Mahrez’s name as he sits in the back of a vehicle with his hood up outside of the Emirates Stadium.

The surfacing of the video has sparked wild speculation from fans of both Arsenal and Chelsea.

One Twitter user wrote: “Looks like Mahrez is on his way to Arsenal.”

While another added: “Riyad Mahrez was at the Emirates tonight, from what I’m hearing he’s a Chelsea target not an Arsenal one.”

Conte reveals Barkley doubts

04.45: Antonio Conte has admitted he felt forced to hand Ross Barkley his Chelsea debut against Arsenal.

Barkley, who joined in a £15million deal at the start of the month, made his Blues debut and his first appearance of the season when he came on as a substitute after 30 minutes.

The midfielder, however, failed to have an impact on the game, as the west London outfit crashed out of the competition.

And Conte has revealed he didn’t want to throw Barkley in at the deep end so soon.

“I think Willian’s injury was decisive. We don’t have many players to make substitutions. Morata was out,” Conte said.

“I was a bit forced to play with Barkley.

“He’s a really good player and important for Chelsea but needs a bit of time to get used to playing for Chelsea.”
