Chelsea are still keen on signing Ross Barkley in the January transfer window – as well as a new striker, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Blues, as well as being interested in landing long-term target Alex Sandro, are keen on reviving their interest in signing Barkley from Everton.
Chelsea were heavily linked with a move to sign Barkley in the closing stages of the summer transfer window, but a switch failed to materialise before the Blues ended up signing Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City on deadline day.
The same report claims that Chelsea are still eager to find a striker to partner Alvaro Morata up front in the new year.
The forward has made a strong start to life at Chelsea since his move from Real Madrid in July, but the report claims that a striker is a priority in January for the Blues to ease the “burden” on the 25-year-old.
Chelsea are currently third in the Premier League table as they look to try and defend the title they won last season.
The west London side return to top flight action on Saturday lunchtime with a trip to the London Stadium to take on West Ham United.
What do you think of this development? Whom should we sign in the January window? Should it be Barkley? Sandro? Or anyone else completely?
