Paul Merson is backing Chelsea to ease to a straightforward win against Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The defending Premier League champions were 3-1 winners against promoted side Huddersfield Town at John Smith’s Stadium on Tuesday night.
The title holders managed to bounce back from a surprise 1-0 loss at West Ham United thanks to goals from Willian, Pedro and Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Chelsea are in third place in the Premier League table but 14 points adrift of current leaders Manchester City as retaining their title looks unlikely.
The Blues have suffered a surprise 3-2 loss to Burnley at home this season, while Manchester City secured a 1-0 win at the defending champions in September.
The west London side are three points clear of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur as Antonio Conte’s men look to qualify for the Champions League in successive seasons.
Former Arsenal midfielder Merson can’t see past a comfortable Chelsea win at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
“I thought Chelsea were brilliant at Huddersfield,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“I know Tottenham won easily there but Manchester United got beaten there and Manchester City didn’t win until late on. Chelsea embarrassed Huddersfield and I can’t see anything but another win here.”
Chelsea have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and then Antonio Conte.
The Blues lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley last term to miss out on the double.
