‘Needs to be sold’, ‘Final chance’ – Chelsea fans deliver damning verdict on rare starter

Chelsea are in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup after a dramatic win over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Heading towards a 1-0 win thanks to Willian’s early opener, the visitors equalised in the 90th minute through Dan Gosling, with extra-time appearing to be a certainty.

However, main man Alvaro Morata played his part off the bench with an injury time winner to ensure the Blues’ safe progress into the next round.

Morata had come into the game in the 73rd minute, replacing Michy Batshuayi who was given a rare chance to impress in Antonio Conte’s attack. He’s started just six matches so far this term.

Batshuayi didn’t have the best of games though and supporters were left disappointed with his contribution, with some even suggesting Wednesday’s match was his last chance to impress.

Will he make it at Stamford Bridge, or are the standards at the club just too high for the Belgian?
