BARCELONA have approached Chelsea with a loan offer for David Luiz, according to sensational reports from France.
David Luiz has been linked with a move away from Chelsea in recent months after falling out of favour with Antonio Conte.
The Brazil international is no longer in the first-team picture at Stamford Bridge and has been replaced by Andreas Christensen.
Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona have all been mentioned as potential destinations for the 30-year-old in January.
And French broadcaster Telefoot have claimed Barca have stolen a march on their rivals and approached Chelsea with a loan offer for Luiz.
The report says the La Liga side have made contact with the Blues about a deal until the end of the season but are yet to receive a response.
Barca are said to be desperate to bolster their defensive ranks in January as Javier Mascherano heads for the exit door.
The long-serving Argentinian is set to join Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune in the New Year and Luiz could be a suitable replacement.
The Chelsea defender was also in Barcelona this week to visit a specialist about his ongoing knee problems which has further fuelled speculation of a move.
Spanish broadcaster Catalunya Radio claimed the centre-half used the opportunity to meet with Barca officials and get the ball rolling on a move.
And it seems Conte is already preparing for his exit with reports linking the Italian with a move for Leonardo Bonucci.
The pair know each other well from their Juventus days and worked together with the Italian national side.
And following a largely unsuccessful move to AC Milan in the summer, Bonucci could be tempted with a switch to south-west London just six months after moving to the San Siro.
